The other day one of my clients called in and wanted to know how much will it cost to get placement of his site in google. He only wanted topranking for his site in google.
It is sad but true that people want to get their site on the first page of google but do not realize that it is not some kind of a magic or a genie that can bring immediate results. In the anxiety to get a good position in google people end up paying through their nose and then wait and watch for their money to be exhausted. And some are lucky to get results, while others re-start their activities to look for a new SEO professional.
So, what is it that takes to get a topranking position in google? It is not a secret, but a straight fact that you need good quality content that is relevant to the subject you are trying to promote in google. Google promotion is pretty straight forward and it does not cost anything. All it takes is to make sure that your content is good, informative and can offer some value to your website visitors.
Once you have the content, your site needs to be submitted to Google. You can do so on the following link:

And then you need to start promoting your website on related communities. In essence it is all based on simple premise:
- You need to have good content. And the content needs to be original. I mean, stay away from content that is stolen from other sites because you will invoke ‘Google Penalty’ and cause more damage than good.
- You can submit your site to Google directly, using the link I mentioned above.
- Start working on submitting sites to relevant directories and get relevant ‘Anchor Text’ links to your site.
- Do not ever engage in buying PR for your site. This will earn you wrath of Google.
It is a matter of keeping your site good, clean and doing the simple things effectively.
