check google rank

The success of any venture comes from how well we track the progress. The fruits of search-engine-optimization can be earned only if you track your site on multiple search engines. Since Google sends more traffic than anyother search engine, we will discuss those tools that can help you in checking a basic status of your site vis-a-vis optimization.

  1. One of the first things that needs to be checked is the presence of ‘Meta Tags’ on your site. While ‘Title’ is the most important piece in the SEO puzzle, there are other meta tags that can assist you in getting a toprank in Google. You can check the ‘Meta Tags’ on your site using a free ‘Meta Tag Analyzer’.
  2. The next thing to check is the PR of your site. PR is a short abbreviated form of ‘Page Rank’. To a layman, page-rank is weight of your page or significance of your page from Google’s standpoint. Your page can have a maximum rank of 10. You can get in-depth information about ‘Google Page Rank’ on the Wiki. You can check your site’s PR over here.
  3. You can also check your site’s present position or rank on Google using this tool. This site will require access to Google’s SOAP API Key.

These are the basic tools that can provide information to you on your site’s present status. There are other tools that can check the overall backlinks to your site, but I am not listing them here to keep everything simple.
